Jaeden Wellner is a Lighting Designer, Programmer, and Entertainment Electrician. Knowing he wanted to work in live event production, he sought out a degree in theatre technology and design where he developed a passion for lighting. Though his passion is lighting he finds all fields of production to very fulfilling and will never turn down an opportunity to experience new ideas and technology.

Jaeden earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Technology with an emphasis in Lighting Design from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2015. In the four years he attended University he was part of (8) musicals, (3) plays, and (6) dance concerts including as a lighting, scenery, and sound designer. The fast pace and quick turnaround enabled him to work on many different aspects of shows such as management, design, and tech. As a designer, he gained experience in collaborating with others to unify design elements and heed to the director’s concept. Jaeden also worked for the student union on campus as a lead technician where he provided audio, visual, and lighting support to various locations and clients around campus.

Jaeden found his passion in the live event industry when he started working as a stagehand at his local civic center in 2012. In 2014 he started his professional career in educational theatre teaching and supervising students in the lighting field before moving primarily to live music and corporate event lighting as a designer and electrician. He has worked in a variety of venues including theatres, arenas, ballrooms, and art galleries for companies and as an independent contractor. As a designer, he has drafted light plots, power distribution systems, and equipment lists in addition to directing and supervising crews working on lighting systems. Jaeden has served as the lead electrician and programmer on many productions and is well versed on electrical codes, gear maintenance, and console programming. In 2018 Jaeden accumulated enough hours as a technician to recieve his ETCP Entertainment Electrician Certification. Aside from the lighting field, Jaeden serves as a rigger for arenas and amphitheaters both in the air and on the ground. Having been given opportunities to work in so many different fields and on many different productions, Jaeden is quick to spot and solve potential problems, put forth new and innovative ideas, and see the entirety of an event before it has left the warehouse.
